Frameworks that turn law
into competitive advantage

Four practitioner-built frameworks. Built by lawyers, not consultants.
01, Data Privacy
Vibe Data Privacy™
A DPDPA governance system that is operational from day one. Not aspirational. Built by practising lawyers, not consultants.
02, Regulatory
TCL Framework™
Technical + Commercial + Legal. The three dimensions every regulatory challenge requires. Most firms deliver one. AMLEGALS delivers all three.
03, AI Governance
AIGCF™
The Practitioner's designed AI Governance & Compliance Framework. Ten pillars, five risk tiers, seven lifecycle stages, grounded in Indian constitutional law, DPDPA, and global AI standards. Built for boards deploying AI in India.
04, Tax Strategy
Pivot Tax™ Doctrine
Five pivots that redefine how businesses approach GST and Income Tax. Not compliance checklists. A doctrinal system for dynamic tax positioning built by practitioners who litigate, advise, and implement.
Our Approach

The TCL Framework

Explore the TCL Framework

Traditional firms offer an opinion. We engineer an outcome. The TCL Framework is how we deconstruct every regulatory challenge into three dimensions, and solve all three.

01

Technical

Deep vertical fluency, from AI architecture to industrial process flows. We speak the language of your engineers, your CISOs, your CTOs.

02

Commercial

P&L thinking, not just legal opinion. We address contract economics, margin protection, and strategic positioning before drafting a single clause.

03

Legal

Jurisprudential rigour. Doctrinal positions. Tested in tribunals, not just templated in firms.

We do not interpret statutes. We engineer the frameworks that let industry leaders scale with confidence. The law must become the code.

By The Numbers

Authority you can count. Outcomes you can defend.

Deep regulatory practice across the verticals where statute meets strategy. Ten offices. One operating philosophy: engineered outcomes, not opinions. As the DPDP Rules, 2025, GST 2.0 and India’s first AI Governance Guidelines reset the compliance map, that discipline is no longer optional, it is the difference between readiness and exposure.

Frequently Asked

The questions clients ask before they engage us.

Straight answers on what AMLEGALS does, where we operate, and how the TCL Framework turns a legal question into a defensible business outcome.

What does AMLEGALS do?

AMLEGALS is a full-service Indian law firm that advises Indian and international businesses across GST and indirect tax, DPDPA and data privacy, arbitration and dispute resolution, corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, GCC setup, employment and labour law, AI governance, intellectual property, and cross-border transactions. Every engagement is approached through the firm’s TCL Framework - Technical, Commercial, Legal.

Where are AMLEGALS offices located?

AMLEGALS operates from 10 offices across India. The headquarters is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a presence in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Surat, Vadodara, and Prayagraj. The firm advises clients across India and supports inbound work from the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the European Union.

When was AMLEGALS founded and how experienced is the firm?

AMLEGALS brings extensive legal experience to its clients. The firm is led by Founder and Managing Partner Anandaday Misshra and is recognised by Legal 500 Asia Pacific, India Business Law Journal (IBLJ), and Asialaw Profiles.

What is the TCL Framework?

TCL stands for Technical, Commercial, Legal. It is the integrated approach AMLEGALS brings to every matter - understanding the technical and operational reality of the issue (Technical), weighing the commercial and economic considerations that shape the right course (Commercial), and applying rigorous, doctrinally sound legal analysis (Legal). Looking at a matter through all three dimensions allows the firm to move from a business decision to a well-reasoned legal position.

Does AMLEGALS advise on DPDPA compliance?

Yes. AMLEGALS advises Indian and foreign companies on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025 - covering gap assessments, consent architecture, data processing agreements, cross-border transfer strategy, Data Protection Officer support, and Data Protection Board readiness. The DPDP Rules introduce phased timelines, so early preparation is decisive.

What does AMLEGALS’ GST and indirect tax practice cover?

The firm’s GST and indirect tax practice covers advisory and litigation matters - including replies to show-cause notices under Sections 73 and 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, departmental audits, input tax credit disputes, and representation before adjudicating authorities, the GST Appellate Tribunal, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India.

What is the GSTAT 30 June 2026 deadline and why does it matter?

The GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) became operational on 24 September 2025, with a Principal Bench in New Delhi and 31 State Benches across 44 locations. A one-time backlog window applies: appeals against orders passed before 1 April 2026 must be filed by 30 June 2026, while orders communicated on or after 1 April 2026 carry the standard three-month limitation. Filing requires a pre-deposit of the full admitted tax plus 10% of the disputed tax (capped at Rs 20 crore CGST and Rs 20 crore SGST). AMLEGALS advises businesses on appeal strategy, pre-deposit planning, and representation before the Tribunal.

How do the DPDP Rules, 2025 timelines affect my business?

The Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 were notified on 13 November 2025 and roll out in phases. The Data Protection Board was constituted first; Consent Manager obligations follow from 13 November 2026; and substantive Data Fiduciary duties - consent notices, the 72-hour breach reporting obligation, data principal rights including nomination, and Significant Data Fiduciary requirements such as annual Data Protection Impact Assessments and independent audits - become enforceable from 13 May 2027. This phased runway makes early gap assessment and consent-architecture design decisive. AMLEGALS helps organisations build DPDPA readiness through its Vibe Data Privacy approach.

What does AMLEGALS’ India market-entry practice cover for foreign companies?

The firm advises foreign companies on India market entry - including entity setup, FDI and FEMA compliance, regulatory approvals, GCC and Global Capability Centre establishment, tax structuring, and ongoing operations counsel - across the lifecycle of establishing and running a business in India.
